Creation...

How did God make people?

The Bible tells us that God made Adam from the “dust of the ground.” In other words, God took something He had already made, dust, and formed a man’s body out of it and then gave that body life. God made Adam, the first man, just the way He wanted him. Then God made Eve from part of Adam, just the way He wanted her. We’re all made by God.

Why did God make mosquitoes?

When we’re being attacked by mosquitoes, it’s easy to wonder why God made pests and other animals that can harm us. When God created the world, it was perfect. Only after sin entered the picture did animals and human beings become enemies, causing humans to protect and defend themselves. So now mosquitoes try to feed off of us. They, in turn, become food for birds and bats. In the future, in the new heaven and new earth, animals won’t hurt people or each other.

Why do some people believe that humans came from monkeys?

Many people today believe that human beings descended from apelike creatures millions of years ago. In others words, they believe that way, way back in time certain animals changed so that they eventually became human. This is known as the theory of evolution.

There are three main reasons that people believe this:

1. They prefer not to believe that God created Adam and Eve and that all people descended from those two people, so they need another explanation.
2. Many scientists tell us that us that the theory of evolution explains the fossil record. Therefore, it seems reasonable to people.
3. So many other people believe the theory of evolution that they assume it must be true.

The Bible teaches, however, that God created human beings at a certain time and that He created them “in His own image” (Genesis 1:27). This means that humans are not just smart animals. Every human being is a special creation of God, from a tiny unborn baby to the oldest person on Earth. The Bible also says that only God was witness to creation.

KEY VERSE:  Genesis 1:27
